About us
Grassroots experience, joined to evidence.
Sustainable Climate-Smart Agriculture and Climate Change Initiatives — known as SUCSA — was founded by a diverse team of professionals who had each watched climate change reshape the same communities from different angles.
Our story
SUCSA is a forward-looking, impact-driven public benefit organisation committed to empowering communities through climate resilience and poverty eradication. Our constitution was adopted as the governing document on 1 January 2025, and our principal office is in Siaya County, Kenya.
We believe a sustainable world starts with farmers who can first nourish themselves before putting their produce into the market. That belief shapes how we design every programme: households first, then surplus, then markets, then policy.
In July 2025 the founding team met in Nairobi for a profile development workshop — defining our identity, agreeing priorities, and setting a two-year roadmap that we are now delivering against.

Our constitution provides for ordinary members who take part in programmes, and honorary members recognised for significant contribution through support, advocacy or expertise.
Ordinary members
Individuals who meet the membership criteria, fulfil their obligations, and actively participate in our programmes and initiatives.
Honorary members
Individuals recognised for significant contribution to our cause — through financial support, advocacy or specialist expertise.
How to join
Applications are proposed by one member and seconded by another, submitted on the approved form, and considered by the Board at its next meeting.
